About JUNITY
Purpose, Mission, and Vision
We are a faith-based, non-profit organization who serves juveniles and youth who are at-risk of being in direct contact with the criminal justice system.
Our mission is to demonstrate God's unconditional love for youth by providing a variety of free services to juveniles and at-risk youth, and connecting them to other organizations in their local areas that will assist them.
Our vision is to see a major decrease in the rates of juvenile recidivism and the termination of the school-to-prison pipeline. We want to see the education rates of children tremendously increase, and the rates of juvenile incarceration drastically decrease. We want to see mentorship programs in every juvenile detention center throughout the nation, assimilation assistance for newly released juveniles, and transformation centers where youth can learn, play, and have free meals.
What We Do
At JUNITY, we work passionately to alter the trajectory of at-risk youth, focusing on those within the confines of the Collin County Juvenile Detention Center in North Texas. Our efforts are realized through personalized one-on-one and group mentoring sessions, as well as comprehensive life skills training programs. We serve as an essential link between these young individuals and a world of potential and positive growth, providing them the tools to foster resilience, self-reliance, and constructive interpersonal relationships. Our commitment to empowering each youth we touch helps to cultivate their development into responsible, engaged community members, contributing significantly towards our vision of ending the school-to-prison pipeline and transforming juvenile incarceration trends.
Our Philosophy and Approach
JUNITY firmly believes in the boundless potential of every young person we serve. Our faith-based philosophy places unconditional love and compassion at the core of our interactions, aiming to imbue each individual with a sense of self-worth and purpose. We see beyond their current circumstances to their inherent value and future possibilities. Our organization works diligently to provide an array of free services tailored to the unique needs and aspirations of each youth. We don't work in isolation but believe in the power of partnership and community, and thus actively connect our beneficiaries to other organizations in their local areas for further assistance. We view ourselves as catalysts in a broader community effort, with our endeavors contributing to a national vision of educational upliftment, decreased juvenile incarceration, and widespread availability of supportive resources for at-risk youth.
